Our Mission:
Freely Given is a social enterprise created to rally community behind families in crisis through the power of social media and the sale of uniquely designed apparel.

A movement for community.  One story at a time.

As unique as each of our stories are, we can find a unifying theme in the journey. We celebrate together in the peaks, in the joyful times, where we have received and are full. But then for many of us, unavoidable landslides occur along the way somewhere. We find ourselves caught up in hardships - stretched in every sense of the word. The valleys close in, the bottom of our financial capabilities reached, drained by medical expenses, a job suddenly gone, transportation finally on it’s last mile, a loved one lost, or perhaps it is everything that has come at us at once, and fast.

This is when unity must prevail.  This is the time to come alongside, to build community, to hand-in-hand give freely to those traveling through a valley of their story.

The Freely Given Movement exists to help identify and be a voice for local families that have found themselves in the midst of a valley, an unexpected crisis. The Freely Given Movement gives their neighbors, friends, family and complete strangers the opportunity to come alongside their fellow Kansas Citians in order to build a unified community of love, encouragement, and support.

To meet a specific need of the family in crisis, financial support will be raised through the sale of high quality, limited edition apparel designed by local artists. Along the way, The Freely Given Movement will utilize photography, blogging and the viral power of social media to capture and inspire the community, documenting the progress of each story beginning to end.

Our hope is that you will join with us to freely give - one family, one need, one story at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Freely Given movement not for profit?

No - While Freely Given was created for a charitable cause, it is a "for profit" social enterprise. However, Freely Given will reinvest the majority of profits back into the city by helping local families during a time of crisis.  Therefore, because it is not a tax exempt entity, purchases are not tax deductible.

How much of my purchase goes to funding the actual need?

The percentage of each purchase given to the need will differ based upon the featured piece of apparel.  The exact percentage will be clearly specified on each item found within our online storefront.  Many factors, such as cost of production, are factored into determining the overall price of apparel and percentage given. It is our mission, intent, and top priority to give the largest percentage possible to the stories and needs being shared through the Freely Given Movement.  Any amount of profit not going directly to the featured family is reinvested into the Freely Given Movement in order to sustain and grow it to help other local families in need.

How does the family receive the need once it has been fully funded?

Part of the selection process for each featured family will include determining a specific need within their story. This need will be communicated as a part of each story's launch. Once funds are raised, Freely Given will work with the featured family to purchase the specified item(s) or otherwise provide for the need.  The Freely Given team will be responsible for the purchase and delivery of the item(s) to the family.  This process will be documented and shared through social media and the Freely Given website to provide those following the story an opportunity to experience the lasting impact a community can make on the lives of others.

How long will it take to receive my purchase?

You will receive a confirmation email from Freely Given when your order has shipped. You will receive your order within two weeks of your purchase.

The shirt or size I'm trying to order is unavailable. When will it be back in stock?

We will update our social media accounts and website regularly with changes in stock availability as our collections are limited editions.

How much is shipping?

Shipping is a flat rate of $5.95 for each order made in the continental U.S.
